Logic’s hit song, “1-800-273-8255,” turned out to be one of the most impactful records of 2017, and it apparently continues to be the gift to people contemplating suicide that keeps on giving. Lo performed the record at the 2018 Grammys, along with Alessia Cara and Khalid, and the track being performed on the big stage may have led to a spike in calls to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.A spokesperson for the NSPL recently revealed to TMZ that in the two hours following Logic’s performance of the track, whose title is the number to the Lifeline, counselors received three times the amount of calls they usually receive in that time period. The Maryland rapper also wore a hoodie that displayed the number during his set. Some of the calls surely came from people who were just curious about the number. Nevertheless, the NSPL is calling Lo’s performance “an incredible moment in suicide prevention.” According to the report, when the song was released last April, the NSPL says they received a 50 percent surge in calls. In other Logic-related news, the 28-year-old rapper recently announced he finalized writing a novel and a movie script. “Yeah, well there’s a lot of things that are going on right now, which is awesome,” Logic told E! News at the 2018 Grammys. “I just finished my first novel. I started the second one. I just wrote and finished a movie that I’m really excited to star in now. I’ve been working really hard. It’s been amazing.”Big things poppin.’See New Music Releases for February 2018
