One of the men accused of killing Chinx is in talks for a plea deal. The New York Post reports that the suspect, Jamar Hill, made a brief appearance in court on Monday (July 16), where Queens prosecutor Brian Hughes said they are still working toward a disposition. Hill, along with Quincy Homere, is accused of shooting and killing Chinx in 2015, just hours after the rapper performed at the Red Wolf night club in Brooklyn. The men allegedly followed Chinx as he left the club, shooting at the Porsche Panamera 4 he was riding in. The rapper was shot 15 times, while his friend Antar Alziadi was shot twice in the back. Alziadi survived the shooting. The suspects, who were already in jail for different cases when they were arrested, now face up to 25 years in prison if they are convicted of murder. Hill is scheduled to appear in court again on Sept. 12. During their first hearing with a judge earlier this year, Hill and Homere were charged with second-degree murder and pleaded not guilty to the charges. “It gets harder and harder every time just to literally stare someone in the eyes and not be able to say anything,” Chinx’s widow, Janelli Caceres-Pickens said at the time. “It’s hard, it’s hard. A lot of emotions run through you.” A member of French Montana’s Coke Boys collective, French has paid tribute to Chinx in the past, most recently releasing the “Whiskey Eyes” video in July 2017.
